monday blues today.

i got certain stuff to do.

ICA 1 is on thurs, gotta study lesson 1-4.

ICA 2 is also on thurs on lab sessions.

and ICA 3 is on 30 Jan.

This friday is also ICA 2 for customer service.

writing some role play things.

its quite boring and sian.

oh how i wish the weekends are here.

but i must persevere through till IPP.

oh well.

Its Saturday night.

3rd of December.

I have been here for more than 3 months.

I am glad to share the wonderful experiences that I had in Hampton.

I will end school on the 8th, can't wait for it to end. HAHA.

However, i must finish school first and the end the race well

stop thinking about later this week.

The months here in Hampton have been enriching.

I still remembered on the first day i arrived in the US

my poor hand carry luggage was gone.

i panicked, but i prayed.

a few days later i got back my luggage.

That few days was terrible, i really had nothing on me.

practically nothing.

no money, phone, soap, towels, toiletries, etc.

but God provided for everything.

I borrowed some money and went to get the necessities.

School started on the 6th of September.

5 classes:

1. Race and Gender in Sport

2. Facilities Management

3. Sport Law

4. Sport Marketing

5. Sport Public Relations and Promotions

these 5 modules were interesting

as it was from USA professors with PhD in Sport Management.

I looked through the lesson plans,

it was cool but everything changed in between.

The classes were pretty simple.

Take home tests, journal writing, small projects.

There are no exams but just presentations.

It is wonderful that i came here, because i think i would have died

with business modules back in Singapore.

The month of September and October was difficult

as it was adjusting time, meeting new people, finding out stuff

and getting adjusted to the life of Hampton.

However, i got to watch many top action college sports

like volleyball and basketball.

the play there is so good, so much better than Singapore.

Quality, Structure, Organization, learnt some coaching tips.

Also, got to catch football action college level.

I also began to understand the game better after playing it on PSP. (:

Visited the Peninsular Town Center a lot of times during the months

and there was quite a bit to shop around for things.

Homecoming week was in October where the alumni came back.

There was the clash of the titans between Hampton and Howard the following week.

Really, the life here is pretty simple, but it can get roller coaster sometimes.

the weather here is kind of retarded too.

Sometimes it can drop down to so low, and it bounce up so high.

you never know when it will happen.

but praise God and thank God for the weather.

I began to hit the gym from middle of October.

I began to start building muscle mass and going to the gym

for a workout everyday except Saturday sometimes.

The gym there is kind of old, but good enough for a workout.

Played table tennis almost everyday, a bit of Frisbee here and there.

Fiona taught me some stuff on Frisbee, and speaking of sports,

I miss tchouking a lot, like really a lot.

I know my Mizuno shoe is gone as well, i gotta get a new court shoe.

I also didn't really get to watch TV these days.

But i managed to catch the replay of Chelsea versus Liverpool!

It was awesome watching the reds win against a loser torres.

Something kind of hit me as i was thinking about reflecting on the stay here.

The word: Contentment.

Sometimes, in life, you are really just not satisfied with what you have.

I mean like it's true.

you want the best shoe, the best muscles, the best clothes, etc.

Everything you want it to be nice, and satisfying.

I really thought to myself that this should not be the way.

I mean God had a reason for putting me here so far away from home.

Surely, he has a reason.

I can't afford to always complain about i don't have this and that, but

what's the point? You have everything you need now, thank God for it.

The word: Humility

Sometimes, being in a battle, with something maybe about fears, trials, etc.

you just grow weary sometimes, and feel like you wanna give up because

you don't want to lose.

and when you lose, the feeling stinks.

everyone doesn't like to lose.

One coach told me that there are only 2 groups of people in a game.

1 is the winners, 2 is the people who wanted to win.

there are no losers. SPOT ON!

Just as Rocky says, when something hits you down

get back up and go forward, and forward all the way.

I think with God's grace, guidance, wisdom, love

I managed to go all the way till today.

I cant wait to get back and fight the giants with you guys.

but until then, can't wait to see mom and dad on the 10th.

i am so excited for them, getting to spend a holiday in New York

with me after never seeing me for so long.

I am so excited too because i wanna see New York City.

passed up the test papers up.

i thought of many things today.

one of them is the word 'change'.

today i woke up,

feeling lethargic and moody

but i was reminded of something

something that caught my eye.

it was the janitor.

without fail, every single day

he would ask me how am i

Haha, today was a day which was tiring.

After lessons that ended at 1215,

went to petrol station to draw money and buy lunch.

donuts and coke are the bomb.

went back and did laundry.

played frisbee while waiting for laundry to finish washing and drying.

after me and fiona went over to grab a bite.

and then played pool and table tennis.

played table tennis for 3 whole hours.

tired to the max.

its been a week
but its been a week of learning and joy

the assembly bible camp this year was held at the same hotel
memories of the previous year truly were still in my mind
the food was awesome and great, so well fed and so feeling
the spiritual food also was awesome, brother Alex delivered it beautifully.
it was on monday where me only arrived at about 5pm?
ice breakers I heard was fun but yeah after that it was message 1.
games were fun too, but the sun was terrible.
mosquitoes were so irritating but the fellowship was warm though.

the workshops were interestinig as well, the open forum as well.
it really focused on the things youths and adults get exposed to it.
dorm 817 and 815 rocks, of cos mann.
ultimate to the maximum, but kevin, danson and yuhan were great.
bs was fun too, though it was a little hot.
this is also the first camp i have seen so many people getting injured.
poor thing la, the wounds are disgusting.

There was a conversation between God and Brandon.

God said; " Hello my child, how are you doing?"

Brandon answered; " I'm fine dear Father, school is getting more stressful each day. "

God replied; " Why the stress? I bore so much for you on the cross, that burden was so heavy, take up your cross and follow me. "

Brandon sighed; " Father, I need you desperately. "

God said; " My child, I love you. I went through the sufferings and the pain for you. I want to make you grow and be stronger and be more like me."

Brandon said; " Father, its tough to withstand temptations and trials. Sometimes I just fall into sin and I am so ashamed to turn back to you. "

God smiled; " My child, I forgive you. I have paid the penalty for you. However, there will be punishments. It hurts me to see you crying every night. "

Brandon said; " Dear God, my heavenly Father, every night I pray and read your word. I get so upset and ashamed for what I have done after praying and reading, every day without fail. "

God said; " My child, I am very happy and glad you read my word daily and spend time talking to me. DO not worry, I will send the helper to you. "

Brandon answered; " I do not deserve anything at all Father. "

God replied; " I love every single soul on this earth so much. No one living on earth is born perfect. Everyone has weaknesses and strengths. Everything happens for a reason and no one is perfect on this earth. "

Brandon said; " What must I do with this? "

God said; " Read my word, follow my commandments, take up your cross and follow me. "

Brandon replied; " Lord, i will do my best to sacrifice. I will pray for others, until my knees hurt. Lord, I will take up my cross and follow you. You are the sheperd of my soul, I will boast nothing. I will only boast for what you have done for me.

Brandon continued; " Lord, keep me busy. Use me for your glory, here am I, send me. Guide me with thy spirit, shelter others first then me, comfort others then me.

God said; " How about my ministry? "

Brandon replied; " You have a path way for me, give me courage to speak for you, like you gave your servant Paul.

God said; " I am the potter, moulding you slowly daily like how I mould others. Speak about me, tell the world, its not my desire that anyone should perish. Behold, I am coming quickly. "

Brandon said; " Change my heart, O God, make it ever true, Change my heart, O God, may I be like you.

God replied; "Take care my child, do not be afraid, do not feel discouraged or burdened. Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest. "

Brandon said; " thank you Lord, I love you with all my heart, soul and mind. "

Once again, the holidays are here.
After a hectic Term 1, its nice to have a one week break (:

pressure is one thing that you exprience
but always remember it is to make you stronger.

2008 has just zoomed past amazingly
and say a BIG HELLO to 2009.
looking back at the year, seeing different stuff
I really could see God's amazing grace and mercy
His wonderful blessings upon us as we walked through the year
like every other year, it would have many ups and downs
and at the beginning, you are so excited to receive different things
new stuff that you want to know, and getting to exprience it.
some, enlisting to National Service, a new exprience
some, having major exams, "A" levels, "O" levels, PSLE
some, entering into new environments, JCs and Sec Schs.
some, having visions and goals that they want to acheive
and many wanting the good results, not the bad ones.
the year ahead may bring disappointment and sorrow
but I'm sure that it will also bring happiness and joy.
The Lord may come anytime, dun waste any second.
Time is such an essence of life, 24 hours not enough at all!
gosh oh gosh, why do people complain?
Next year is definetly an opportunity, a chance
to refresh, to regenerate, to revise and to resurface.
I sincerely pray that God will be with all of us in the coning year
His never ending love, grace and patience.
I really do hope I will apply one lesson that I have learnt in 2008
and put it to practice into 2009. Have you?

Its Jan 1 2009, School is starting soon.
I don't want to complain about work and stress.
I don't want to complain that I'm tired.
I don't want to complain about there is no time.
All I want to do is to pray and meditate on God's word everyday
study hard for Him, and glorify God through the results.
I'm gonna play and train hard too, and defend the title for God
whatever the results, I will still love God with all my heart.

thanksgiving dinner was very nice today. :D
it was quite enjoyable and filled with fellowship.
Aunty Geok Bee and Lisa did a great duet, SS scholars did a great job too.
9 course dinner was very nice and delicious.
the message by Uncle Harry was very enriching, really putting our trust in the Lord.
The vision 2009 also! Going Church always.
and the theme was fitting too, what shall i render?
thinking back what did I give unto the Lord this year?
just as the song goes, Is He satisfied with me?
what does God think of me at this point in time?
after the dinner, went down to amk for watchnight service.
it was good, and it was funny, shall save the details.
seeing everyone wishing a God blessed new year, wow. HAHA.

finally back in singapore, my dearest home. :D
heh and so 1 and a half weeks just passed so fast.
i dont wanna go back to school. :(
getting back to books, no thanks.
sighs, gah feeling very lethargic now.

youth camp was awesome as usual. :D
haha i really don't know how ta blog about it.
i was quite inspired by the theme by faith!
and i challanged myself to memorise the whole book of james!
the talks, the devotions, the games, the singing, the love, the fellowship, the bonding, the bible studies, the quiz, the mersing race, the video!, everything!
truly being a follower of Christ is not an easy road
seeing the video how a christian is persecuted by many just for believing in the Lord
its truly inspiring how he coped with it
and he stayed in the country! not even leaving.
i could really see how God works in our lives.
as a result, his friend got saved at the end!
what joy! gosh it was so moving, praise God.

bible studies were very GOOD.
learnt a lot from uncle andrew, mervyn, kai yuan, kenneth and nigel.
each of us shared our thoughts, and time flew super fast!
the talks were the best and it was very refreshing!
seeing the men of faith, how by faith they depended on God
seeing the end result of their faith, its marvellous
a man walking with God for 300 years! a man enduring persecution for 100 years.
what about me mann.

games were fun, all the leaders did a great job in their respective grps. :D
it was a good exprience, though it was tough along the way.
but each of us survived youth camp 2008 in mersing.
the mersing race was yeap a timely reminder haha!
jus before the bible quiz! LOL
some had to wait for like 30 mins to get their food.
and we felt so bad, leaving them waiting.
thank God group RUTH was so supportive of us
and we did our best, and left God to do the rest.
the olympic bible quiz was fun fun fun. :D

i was so encouraged by jereme, the youngest camper among all

even though it was so late, they stayed up and waited.

youth gospel night is just over
and the crowd was over whelming
so glad to see so many came to listen
and to hear the precious word
that would be able to save their souls

the boys are back from penang
hopefully it all went well for them

some went to australia
others are preparing for the youth olympics

youth camp is coming in 6 days
its so so fast, BLAH, tmr its tuesday le.

its very encouraging and edifying
as it speaks so much to all of us in our daily lives

heh dvbs is just over like that, it was fun!
assigned with a task of managing 10 primary 2 kids
with rachel and valarie, I didnt know what ta expect.
first day of registering, sat with levin.
as the kids came in, woah all look so different.
as we sang the songs, the children all loved it.
esp of course the theme song faith is just believing.
seeing the children enjoy the singing so much
truly its an encouragement that they open their mouths
and sing with their hearts for God.
I sincerely pray that they will come to know what is the true meaning of becoming a christian

'little ones with big faith'
gabriel,daniel,alexander,elisha,ruth,cheryl,mint,yantong,anthia,joanna.
i just love all of them
they were so attentive during review questions
they were so supportive of one another
they were eager to come early in the morning for DVBS.
and sweets was my trump card. wahaha.
they memorised the verse too!

the making of the flag was very very nice
all of them worked together to come up a design.
however some of them were hard to manage
like gabriel, full of energy, so active
the girls were very good, being very very guai.
ruth kwan took all my sweets on the last day
she ahh, so cute, elisha too was a very good boy.
yantong and anthia were quite soft
but they managed to speak up on the 2nd day.
daniel was okay, alexander is a very smart boy.

joanna is also very soft, but she is very sociable.
the outing was very very fun.
the children enjoyed a lot during the outing.
all of them loved the swing, the ice cream, the lunch, the games
kor kor brandon push me! so sweet lol.
daniel got injured on the last day
some of them fell here and there, but yup/
and cheryl and mint! ahaha, two lovely princesses.
i really hope to see them grow and become leaders.

the last day i almost lost my voice
the blindfold game was tiring
i got wet because of the distractors
stoop titus, but it was very enjoyable
i was truly touched when 20 children stood up for salvation
some were from my class, yantong,anthia,daniel, were the ones i saw.
really praise God, DVBS would be a one to remember
as they continue to shine for God.

the 3 days were tiring, managing the kids
getting them to settle down for the bible story
getting involved in whatever activities.
many many other things.
truly in future DVBS would grow stronger, and what a joy to have 200 children.

i just love my class, rachel and valerie really helped me lot

now that its only 7 days more
i shall endure
my leg is itchy, so are my hands
and why so?
hmmms, maybe i got some spastic problem
acting retarded is so so annoying
the email i received was quite encouraging though
about how lucky we are living in such a protected environment
many things that we want, we get it
if things that don't satisfy us, we complain
everytime a meal comes to me, i always think to myself
people that are living in 3rd world countries
do they really deserve what they are expriencing?
a bowl of rice may seem little to us
but it means a lot to them

what have they done? wrong things?
and look at the long list we did
people in our country robbing
stealing, adultery, gangsterism, crime, many others!
the children there are so innocent
sometimes i wish i could just go over and lend a helping hand

midnight soccer madness
but it was ultra shiok, many came
many played their hearts out
everyone had a good time!
10-12 was quite a good time to play,
thank God the cage was sheltered and
we were spared from the rain, haha.
hmmm, an average of 6 per team
we had 3 teams so bout 20 came.
artificial turf is so shiok, but its so hard to control the ball

waited for a cab like half hour? but yes!

If I wasnt a christian, I think I will seriously die.
saturday yp bible study was so enriching
today's morning ministry by uncle kenneth too
so did the sunday school lesson today :D
the psalm of david has like so much encouragement
and uncle alex really taught us many precious lessons.
i seriously wonder what would happen if I hadn't gone to church
or not even a christian, what would life be?
I thank God so much that I am one! and so hence its my duty to share this joy with people outside the church
I want them to exprience it!

Uncle kenneth's message was really a good one
as to really how am i managing my time wisely
am i too busy in doing school work?
do i have time set aside to seek God, read His word, and pray?
and if I do, how long?
its true, without quiet time, I think we would be drifting away from God
its truly a challange in our spiritual lives
to rely on God and commit all our expectations and goals to Him
and to obey and walk in His footsteps

saturday's yp bible study was about the same too
we got to remember our Creator in the days of our youth
when we get old, and yes, its so hard to carry out activities normally
as we encounter all the problems in our physical bodies
if we cant even do things right when we young,
how can we even do things right when we're old?
and hence there is always a time for everything
I am really ashamed of not setting aside more time for God

dvbs and youth camp is coming too. :D
but yesh now its the time to study,

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water.

She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk.
He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"
"You don't owe me anything," she replied.
"Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."

He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart."
As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also.

He had been ready to give up and quit.
Year's later that young woman became critically ill.
The local doctors were baffled.
They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation.
When he heard the nameof the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.
Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.
Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her.

He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life.

saturday went to esplanade, it was fun. study study.

this week is crazy madness but yeah got break from tomorrow to monday. :)

haha, prelims are crazy crazy; yeah, will be concentrating on exams for dis 3 months.

after that its next year den can start playing hockey again. :)

but as for now, discipline is one thing I gotta have everyday.

oh yes its super uber hard but yeah look on the bright side.

why cant humanities subjects be 2 hours long I wonder too..

1 and a half hours is so so short, esp for SS and History.

today was history, 2 minutes I rushed through the last conclusion without even thinking of what to write actually.

I spent 30 minutes rushing through the questions, 10 minutes for understanding and reading.

1 hour spent on structured essay, hand tired ah!!

the only thing I wanna do now is rest before tmr start studying again.

slack today and chiong tomorrow. haha. :)

O level Oral ENGLISH today..
i got someone that was very scary, a ang mo, thks ah.
first one up, first one to take the oral, thanks a lot mann.
picture bout old people, conversation also about old people.
the government must listen mann, haha i spoke loads of crap.
spoke about my grandfather, and best when I was done,
never say thank you, slipped out of my mind la, :( hais.
however it was fun, being the first one, i loved it.
the ones behind were uber uber scared, HAHAHA.
who cares, whats done can never be undone. :)

when i came into my eng teacher's class,
she said, Brandon Chan, first one up boy.
I was like okay yes mam!
'you better get ready!' she said.
okay was my reply, from then on, she went through the same old stuff.
now that her precious oral exam is over, lets see yeah?

today was fun, sunday school depot walk had COPA today.
captains ball 'catch the ball' heh..
saturday went to matthew's house, had junk food party.
played board games plus bridge. yup from 2 onwards.
HAPPY FEET rocks. haha..
Friday didnt go to school but it was fun, went to bishan park to play. :)

this questions keep popping up in my mind.
and when it does, i feel think a lot.
ever said thank you Lord? in school?
when everything is so good, do you give thanks?
or when everything stinks, you curse God?

Common tests are over, and im just awaiting my results/
so lucky i didn't get commented for my oral english. LOL.
yup tomorrow should be getting marks back, not so nervous though.
After that comes another obstacle, prelims. :(
